Family Care FAQ

The questions we hear most about Empowered Family Health. Don't see yours? Just reach out.

We offer informed choice and decision-making to all of our patients regarding vaccinations. We believe the decision to vaccinate is a highly personal choice, and we support standard and delayed vaccine schedules as well as the choice to decline vaccines altogether. We're more than happy to discuss each of these options thoroughly with you at your visit.
We strive to offer the most thorough healthcare possible, which means appointments are longer than the conventional model. We generally reserve at least an hour for your first appointment to develop a complete health record and conduct a chart review; subsequent appointments typically last 30 minutes to an hour. A rushed appointment leads to shallow care and unanswered questions, so our rule is to dedicate as much time as is needed — whether that's 15 minutes or 2 hours.
Membership plans offer convenient, set monthly pricing and include unlimited appointments plus the vast majority of services we offer at no additional cost. They're a fantastic option for those who visit more frequently, or for those without conventional health insurance. Membership also brings perks like text access to your provider for minor concerns and emergency after-hours support.
Nope! If you prefer to pay each time you visit, you can simply use our pay-per-visit pricing structure, similar to how you'd pay a copay.
Our staff is trained to manage a wide breadth of chronic conditions — whether it's asthma in children or diabetes in adults, we have the tools to manage your health. We also have connections with specialists we trust for further evaluation and care. For questions about specific conditions, please call the office.
Yes! We process all payments through QuickBooks and accept credit cards, debit cards, HSA cards, direct bank transfers, and checks. For monthly membership, we even offer automatic bill-pay options.
At Empowered Family Health, we do not accept insurance at this time. We strive to set fair cash-pay prices that allow us to provide the best care possible, without insurance interference. If you request, we're happy to provide documentation of services rendered, which you may submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. Any lab work conducted in the office will be billed separately to your insurance through Quest.
Of course! Nurse practitioners are trained in medication and prescription management. We also offer alternative treatment options such as supplements, herbs, and holistic, natural remedies. Please note that, per our policy, we do not prescribe any controlled substances.
