“I booked the Birth Plus package, which has both birth and postpartum support. This was the first time I had used a doula and this was by far my best birth. Jessie was amazing! She helped me with everything from choosing essential oils to writing my birth plan. She brought a wealth of knowledge and support through her experience with high risk labor and delivery. During the birth, she helped keep me comfortable and ensured things went smoothly and according to my wishes. After the birth, she assisted with getting baby to latch and nurse as well as offering post delivery support. Jessie has come to my home on a weekly basis since my delivery to help with anything I need. She grocery shops, tidies my house, does my dishes and laundry, cleans my bathrooms, sweeps my floors, changes my sheets, takes care of the baby while I shower, and so much more. This allows me to focus on bonding with my baby and lets me spend time with my other children without feeling guilty while the housework piles up. Jessie is always so cheerful and she brightens my day. I feel so happy and peaceful after she has visited. It is wonderful to have a clean house without having to sacrifice time with my baby to get it. I can’t say enough good things about this experience. If you are on the fence about using a doula, look no further! this was a wonderful experience.”

“In January my 70 year old grandpa tested positive with Covid. I have never met Nicki, but was referred to her by a friend from work. At first, before we knew how bad it had really gotten, Nicki sent instructions to my friend for me. My grandparents would not allow me at their house because I have a high risk daughter with asthma. So for 12 days my grandparents told me they were getting better when in reality they were going downhill. When I finally forced my way in, my grandpa was in terrible shape. I immediately texted Nicki and she got me in touch with doctors we felt comfortable with. She texted me multiple times a day to check up on him. She answered my questions rapidly ever time. Grandpa eventually had to go into the hospital, not for breathing issues but with an effect of covid that most have never heard of. Nicki told us exactly what to do and say to keep him safe. She knew exactly the diagnosis days before the doctors did. Without Nicki, I don’t know where we would be. I 100% know that Nicki helped save my grandpa’s life. I would recommend Nicki to anyone and everyone. Also, I have worked with Jessie and known her for years. She is so kind and compassionate. If I were ever to have another baby, I would want her by my side. You could not go wrong with either of these amazing women working with you. They are both kind, compassionate, knowledgeable and experienced. “

“I’m so glad I met Jessie. She helped me through one of the hardest days of my life. It is hard to put into words how grateful we are. We were so lucky to have [her] with us. I couldn’t imagine going through this without [her].”

“My birth went so amazing despite complications because of my doula! I suggest to anyone and everyone I know whose had or having a baby that a doula is a must! Nicki not only helped answer my questions through my pregnancy, labor, and delivery but through my first few weeks of postpartum as well! During my labor, Nicki put up lights and had lavender diffusing. It made my labor feel so peaceful! Everything went absolutely AMAZING!”

“Crying happy tears because I’m still on cloud 9 and feel honored to have experienced this birth. I truly just wanted a body guard. I felt so exposed and taken advantage of in the hospital last time and the thought of going back made me want to crawl in a hole. The journey lead me to you and that’s where it changed. I’m just so thankful for you and Jessie.”

“I was put in contact with Nicki when my mom was admitted to the hospital for 15 days with covid. Thankfully, they allowed 1 visitor per day. Nicki was available to answer all my questions and help me to advocate for the best interest of my mom. With the grace of God and the information and confidence that Nicki gave me, I was able to take my mom home. 3 months later, Nicki was with me again. This time I was in the hospital (17 days) with covid. She gave me the courage to use everything that she had taught me with my mom to advocate for myself. During my recovery, she continues to help quiet my fears and give me a “toolbox” full of resources that help me. Nicki saved the life of my mom and myself. I will never be able to repay her for all she has done and continues to do for me. She has been a God-send and I will always keep her and her family in my prayers.🥰”

Let me start by saying I don’t know if I could truly ever put into words what Nicki did for me. I found nicki when I was around 24 weeks pregnant with my second daughter. My first was a typical hospital induced birth that ended in a cesarean and I knew I NEVER wanted to go through that again. I knew I needed to find the right care to keep my baby and myself safe. I talked to sooooo many doctors and asked how they felt about VBACs everyone said they were very supportive but after reading reviews I saw while a lot of women gave the doctors a 5 star review most women ended giving birth by cesareans. I had a doctor at the time who I felt was not truly supportive of the Vbac I wanted so I left her care. Feeing alone, depressed, full of anxiety and questions that sent me down a rabbit hole of finding a midwife for a homebirth. I talked to lots of midwife’s that we’re not comfortable serving me due to my pregnancies being to close after a cesarean. My last resort phone call was to Nicki. I cried on the phone to her desperate for any answer on a midwife willing to help me. She said unfortunately due to my pregnancies it would be hard to find a midwife willing to serve me, but she referred me to an amazing “vbac of St. Louis Dr.” Who just so happened to be in the same building as Nicki. I was able to get into the doctors practice and I felt safe and supported by this doctor. God put Nicki in my life for way more than just that phone call and referral. Weeks later, My doctor was out of the office and suggest I see the midwife a few doors down from him so she could do a prenatal appointment in lue of his Absence. As I was talking to the midwife about how I wanted an unmedicated hospital birth she suggested I look into a doula. Low and behold Nicki was a doula. The stars aligned and she walked into the room and we realized after talking I was that girl desperate and crying on the phone needing any advice or referral. I knew without a doubt Nicki was going to be my doula. Nicki is an absolute powerhouse and what I would call a “bulldozer” she’s a body guard and I felt 10000% (plus more) supported by her and what I wanted. I went from feeing like my husband and myself were going into a war at the hospital to feeling so secure and ready to see Nicki put people in their place lol. WELL, Nicki ended up not attending my hospital birth because I ended up having my baby at home. Jesse, Nicki’s amazing birth assistant was by my side and Nicki walked in (she was attending another birth) right as I pushed my sweet girl earthside. If it weren’t for that one phone call I would’ve never been a patient of that doctor who was out of the office for one of my prenatle visits, who told me to see the midwife that Nicki just so happened to be working for and working that day, who I hired as a doula And supported me through a pregnancy that went to 42 weeks and 2 days and supported me through one of the most spiritual journeys I’ve ever been on. She truly was a Godsend and I’m forever grateful to her and Jesse.
Fast forward- 1.5 year later im pregnant with my 3rd daughter, I hired Nicki as my midwife, we’re so excited to work together and overjoyed it will be a totally different experience this time. Out of left field, My husbands company decides to relocate us to Alabama. I called Nicki in tears once again. Nicki calm cool and collected said “I’m going to figure this out for you don’t worry, if I have to fly down there and help driver this baby I will” I truly knew she was going to help me and instantly felt at ease. And once again, she delivered. Nicki found me the best midwife I could ask for. Someone I know has the same values and who I felt supported by. Aside from this midwife not being Nicki it’s a perfect match and again I’m beyond thankful God put Nicki in my life because she’s more than a midwife. She’s a friend, sister, fighter, supporter, therapist and a badass midwife that will go to ends of the earth to make it happen for you.

I cannot thank Nikki at empowered health enough for her care. During one of the hardest times of my life she was a true gift from God. I’ve been going through some struggles with postpartum anxiety and depression and Nikki was a provider who listened whole heartedly. She treats you as a person not just a patient, she’s extremely knowledgeable, and has a lot of experience. I would definitely choose her for your women’s health care or midwifery care! She goes above and beyond and cares about you.

I HIGHLY recommend this practice. I learned about Empowered Health after someone mentioned them in a local FB group. I have a great team of doctors, but they are ALWAYS rushed (my orthopedic surgeon’s follow up last week consisted of FOUR minutes of doctor time). Nicki, my healthcare provider this evening, spent an HOUR with me. She spoke with me for about 30 minutes before the exam, drew my blood herself, and asked my consent before every procedure (even taking my vitals). It was amazing. They don’t accept insurance, but I can submit my receipt to Anthem as an out of network provider.

I had a wonderful experience with Nicki Meyer for my recent prenatal, homebirth, and postpartum care! Nicki always gives full informed consent without any judgement for your choices. I love that you as the mom are in full control of everything and she is always there with her knowledge and support. I felt fully confident and comfortable with every choice I made in her care. I love that Nicki is always just a text or call away with anything you need. It truly is personalized care!! Thank you Nicki for a great experience, I will definitely be back with any future needs ❤️

These women changed my life. I had support through my pregnancy and after, as well as the best labor support possible. Nicki is an amazing human being and I am so thankful for her support and true friendship through my biggest fear. My main priority was medical advocacy from a prior trauma and I got not only that, but so much more than I could have hoped for. I had help with any question I had, I had medical support when my doctor wouldn’t give me the time, and I had mental support, that gave me strength. These women, also provided my husband with support and let him relax more during the labor, if your husband is on the fence, my husband also recommends a doula after the birth with one vs one without!

It had been my dream for many years to have a homebirth. So we were very excited to find Nicki when I was pregnant with our 2nd baby. Her experience and impressive background in health care made us feel confident through the pregnancy and birth process. She is caring, personable and wonderfully calm during intense situations. We love Nicki and are so thankful to of had her on this journey. I had the homebirth I always dreamt of and honestly would not have changed a thing. And I also love that Nicki’s care doesn’t stop with pregnancy/postpartum. Thank you Empowered Health. ♡
